Q2: What is the difference between a nominator and a consultant?
A2: A nominator should be familiar with the candidate and be willing to nominate the candidate by filling out a nomination form. The nominator or the direct relative of the candidate cannot serve as a consultant. The consultant should also have some knowledge of the candidate.
Q3: Is it mandatory for the nominator to provide their phone number and address?
A3: The nominator must provide an email address, contact phone number, and address for contact purposes. Please ensure the information is accurate.
Q4: Is school nomination required?
A4: School nomination is not required; any adult over the age of 21 can be a nominator.
Q5: Is there a limit to the number of students a school can nominate?
A5: There is no limit; multiple students can be nominated.
Q6: Are there five categories? Will each category have twenty finalists? Are the finalists evenly distributed among the categories?
A6: There are five categories in the election. The number of finalists for each category is allocated proportionally based on the number of participants, so the number of finalists in each category may vary each year.
Q7: Should I participate in the junior or senior group?
A7: Candidates born between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2014, can participate in the junior group; candidates born between April 1, 2007, and March 31, 2010, can participate in the senior group.
Q8: Will the candidate and nominator receive an email confirmation of the application? How can I confirm if the application was successful?
A8: After the candidate successfully uploads the form, the candidate, nominator, and consultant will receive a confirmation email.
Q9: Besides the "Top 10 Outstanding Teens," are there an additional 20 "Outstanding Teens" to be selected?
A9: The Hong Kong Outstanding Teens Election has 10 "Top 10 Outstanding Teens" and 20 "Outstanding Teens" awards.
Q10: I am a teacher, and my student wants to apply for the Hong Kong Outstanding Teens Election. Should my nomination information be submitted by the student themselves?
A10: The nomination form will be emailed to the nominator after the candidate submits the application. Please allow sufficient time for the nominator to submit the nomination form before the deadline.
Questions Related to Form Filling
Q11: Can candidates save the completed application information for future use?
A11: You can use the "Save Data" button within the system to store the completed parts. Candidates can continue their unfinished applications under "Continue Incomplete Application."
Q12: Can information be modified after submitting the form?
A12: Candidates can continue to modify their application information until the deadline (6:00 PM, February 17, 2025) after submitting the form. No modifications can be made after the deadline.
Q13: Can the completed form be downloaded after submission?
A13: After the initial submission, candidates will receive the completed form via email. However, if candidates modify the information after submission, the system will automatically replace the original content with the updated content. Candidates will not receive the updated content via email for reference. Nonetheless, candidates can still log in to the online application system to view or modify the information before the application deadline.
Q14: Is it mandatory for candidates to upload a photo?
A14: Candidates must upload a student photo or an ID photo for verification and interview purposes.
Q15: Must candidates upload certificates to verify their achievements or social participation experience?
A15: During the registration stage, candidates do not need to submit copies of certificates or any supporting documents. If invited for a second-round interview, candidates must present all original certificates. The organization reserves the right to disqualify candidates if any information is found to be false.

Q16: Will all candidates have the opportunity to attend an interview?
A16: After reviewing the information provided, eligible candidates who have uploaded all required documents will be notified for an interview. Please ensure that all required documents are submitted, including the nominator's form uploaded by the nominator. Ineligible candidates will not be scheduled for an interview.
Q17: When are the interview dates approximately?
A17: The preliminary interview dates for this year are scheduled for March 15-16. If a candidate is invited for a preliminary interview, they will be notified via email by February 28, 2025. The second-round interview date is April 12, 2025. If a candidate is invited for the second-round interview, they will be notified via email by March 24, 2025.
Q18: How will the list of finalists be announced?
A18: All participants who are selected or not selected for the preliminary round will receive an email notification of the results from the organization. The results will also be announced on the organization's website and the election website.
Q19: If I cannot attend the preliminary or second-round interview, can the organization make alternate arrangements?
A19: No, the dates for the preliminary and second-round interviews are fixed. Unfortunately, no alternate arrangements can be made for individual candidates, and online video interviews are not provided.
Q20: Is the interview conducted in a group or individually? What should I prepare? How are the groups formed?
A20: The interview will be conducted in a group format. Grouping is based on the candidate's category and age. Participants can prepare a self-introduction.
Q21: Can the interview be conducted in English or Mandarin?
A21: The interview will be conducted in Cantonese, but students may respond in English or Mandarin without affecting their scores.
Q22: Is it necessary to wear a school uniform?
A22: There is no specific dress code requirement for the interview, as long as the attire is appropriate.
Q23: Will personal achievement and volunteer certificates need to be verified? How should certificates without any proof be handled?
A23: Personal achievement certificates and volunteer certificates need to be brought to the interview venue for verification. If no proof has ever been issued, the organization will note "no proof."
Q24: How should volunteer projects/awards without certificates be handled?
A24: It is recommended to contact the awarding unit to provide a written certificate. If not possible, look for medals or photos as proof of the volunteer work/competition. Items that cannot be verified will be recorded for the organization's evaluation.
